The guest house was dog-friendly and had a welcoming atmosphere. It was a short walk from the town centre, making it convenient for family outings. We especially enjoyed the bacon sandwich for breakfast. it was a real treat.
In my wife’s opinion, more storage space would really help families.

We had a great stay! The location is just a short walk to the city center, and having easy access to the Minster and National Railway Museum was perfect for our sightseeing plans. Melissa was an incredibly welcoming host, making us feel right at home. The street is quiet, allowing for a restful sleep after a day of exploring.
The room had some issues with the ensuite bathroom's size.

The cottage cheese at breakfast was delightful, and the nearby Dewsnaps Brasserie served up a mean lunch. The guest house was clean and tidy, with a cozy vibe that made you feel right at home!
It was a chilly weekend with heating that switched off too early for our liking—thankfully, Melissa extended it the next day. The room was basic, featuring a tiny loo and shower, but still close to all the action.

The location of Beckett Guest House is perfect, a short walk to the Minster and city center. I enjoyed how cozily warm my room felt, which made for a comfortable stay. The bacon sandwich for breakfast was delicious, a highlight of my mornings. However, the ensuite bathroom was a disappointment. it felt cramped and not very clean. The TV was surprisingly small and placed high up, making it hard to watch comfortably. Additionally, the amenities were lacking. I had to ask for milk for my tea, and there was no upgrade in sight for the shower facilities, which didn’t provide hot water reliably. The overall vibe felt similar to a dated dormitory rather than a welcoming guesthouse. I wish it had more attention to cleanliness and comfort, especially for the price paid.

Authentic Victorian architecture, charming vibe, reasonable street parking
Dated decor and furnishings!!! The cramped ensuite bathrooms could really use better ventilation!!! The shower pressure was disappointingly low and inconsistent, ruining otherwise enjoyable bathing!!! Please fix the heating issues for better comfort!!!
